I have an MSI Z87 MB. I believe that it is the G45 gaming. I would say that it was a low to mid range board when i purchased it. The Ethernet port is loose and causes a poor connection. I may be able to solder or re-flow the port to repair it, but i have not checked into this solution yet. Would you recommend replacing the board, or adding an ethernet card? I do some competitive online gaming, so performance is important to me. The best deal on this old Z87 chipset that i have found is an Asus ROG Maximus Hero VI on ebay for $135 shipped, but it is second hand refurbished. New motherboard of this old chipset are hard to find and expensive. I was hoping to upgrade my GPU next instead of my CPU, Motherboard, and RAM.
Your opinions will be appreciated.
