I'm getting 980ti, my PSU only has a 6+2 and a 6 cable. Is it a good idea to get a 6 to 8 pin adapter for one of my cable?

Usually some brands like EVGA send connectors with GPU like molex to 6 pin what psu are you using currently ?

I actually don't know since I got my PC from a friend and he spraypainted the PSU, but I know it's Thermaltake and 750 W
