How to ewcover hdd space used by failed game installation

I was installing an old game from dvd. The game asks for 8gb of space. But midway, the pc restarts with 0x00007e error. After logged back into windows, i find the game folder contains only 170mb of data, but the hdd already used by 8gb. I enabled "show hidden files" but i found nothing.
How to recover this used space?

May have extracted files, to a hidden folder or the temp folder. Use disk cleanup.
