I have a Acer Nitro 5 spin laptop with i7-8550u cpu and GTX 1050. Now the power brick supplied by acer was 90W but there is also a Dell XPS laptop with same configs supolied with 130W AC adapter. My question is should I buy 135W adapter from acer because in gaming there is a frame dropping issue. Heating is not really a issue as I have applied thermal paste and those heat dissipating thermal pads. From what I know 8550U cpu is good for gaming with 4 cores and 8 threads it performs good but from 90W, I think gpu gets less than it needs.

You could try it out since in this case it really is a shot in the dark you're just going to have to go experiment. I do agree however that the gpu could use more power so it may or may not increase your fps.
