can I play modern games at 1080p high settings above 40fps

If I can play far car 4 at high settings 1080p at 55+ fps then can I play battlefield 1 at 1080p high settings above 50 fps. My laptop configuration is i5 7300hq, gtx 1050 2gb and 8 GB ddr4 ram.

You should be good, but overall to get 60fps range you will need to run lower than 1080p or put setings to low at 1080p.. some games are going to be 60fps on high / medium, some will need low or maybe 16x9 resolution. the good news is that on a laptop it's going to be tough to tell the difference between 1080p or 900p. it would be much more noticeable sending to a larger display 25" and larger. anything smaller you can see it, but it's tough.
