strange problem since upgrading to 1080ti

Hi all, i have a strange problem since upgradin to a gigabyte aorus 1080ti, i am getting crashes (total power off and restart) in pcars 2 and pubg, the weird thing is i can play the games no problem but if im navigating the menus it will crash. I have done a complete re-install of windows 10, that didnt help, the only other game i have is rocket league which causes no problems. I have reseated graphics card and all power connectors on motherboard etc. Is driving me mad!

asus hero viii
16gb ddr4 ram 2666
i7 6700k
samsung ssd's
be quite 850w power supply
aorus 1080ti

Its not overclocked but if i launch afterburner i cannot increase power limiter as get an instant crash!
Any help would be greatly appreciated

what was your old GPU? if you were doing fine with the old one. then the shutdowns/restarts could be caused with your PSU not giving enough continous voltage to keep the system stable. this is just a guess.

hi thanks for the reply, the old gfx card was a AMD R290X which i imagine was pretty power hungry ? But will google it and see if there is much difference, thanks.
just googled it and the old cards draws just as much power if not more!!!!
