So I tried using two different programs but I had an error in each. The first one didnt say what the problem was so I tried a different one. The second stopped and said that it couldnt locate the ssd. I don't know what to do, I didnt think installing an ssd would be this difficult

What you do is don't clone. It's a frustrating process that usually fails (that's my personal experience: others disagree). Anyway, why would you want to clone, anyway? Put the SSD in the computer, plug in your Win10 USB install drive, and do a clean install of the OS. Then load your programs onto the new SSD. Backup the data from your old HDD, do a wipe/partition/format, then return your data to it as the second drive in your system.

I went with a clean install. The trouble i was having was there were some files left over on the ssd so when it tried to boot it tried to boot off the ssd. I went into the bios and selected the usb as the boot device and wiped the ssd clean. After the first boot i installed my other two drives and moved the important files off the one and onto the ssd.

tbh this doesn't make a whole lot of sense. You must mean files (bootloader) was left on the HDD so it booted from that. That's where you needed to switch to the SSD as a boot device. Not once in your story do I read you cloning your HDD or installing Windows on the SSD. The way it reads you must still be booting from HDD. All a bit confusing.

Nah i disconnected both of my hard drives but there a couple of boot files left on the ssd from the failed clone. It tried to boot from that but it couldnt because there wasnt enough to boot from. I went into my bios and switched the boot device to my usb. After it booted from the usb to install windows it let me wipe the SSD which i did and installed a new copy of windows.

So a failed clone and you moved straight to a fresh Windows install on the SSD. Gotcha.
