Howdy!
I'm looking to get a new laptop, pretty much exclusively for gaming, and some light video editing for my wife. I've looked around, and I believe I've narrowed down my choices to these two:
Alienware 17 R4: $3,116
CPU: i7-7820HK
Memory: 32GB 2400Mhz
SSD: 512GB PCIe
HDD: 1TB 7200rpm
GPU: GTX1080 8gb
Screen: 17.3" QHD 120hz w/GSYNC
Non-mechanical keyboard
Fangbook: $3,176
CPU: i7-7820HK
Memory: 16GB 2400Mhz
SSD: 250GB PCIe NVMe
HDD: 1TB 7200rpm
GPU: 2x GTX1080 8gb (16GB total)
Screen: 18.4" FHD (1920 x 1080) (Hz is not shown, not sure on this)
Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX keys
The difference between FHD and QHD hasn't always been a huge deal for me, but I do have external monitors, so that should theoretically mean less. I'm more concerned with getting the most for my money, and having a machine that will last a long time playing everything out there at 60frames at at least 1080, maybe QHD. I'd also eventually like to get an oculus, and I can already use one at my work with my own machine.
So, what does everyone think?
