i bought a new CPU, a i7 7700k(yes i checked the socket) and i put it in and applied the thermal and such. But when i started my computer the power light came on but the LED's did not. And when i put my old CPU back in it works normally. if anyone could help me troubleshoot this and fix it i would greatly appreciate that!

My Current Setup:
I5-6400 2.70 ghz, 480 watts power supply
geforce gtx 970, asus g11cd-b11(motherboard)
and 8 gb ram

Solution
You will probably not be able to use your current version of Windows with a new motherboard. Most prebuilts have the Windows linked to the physical motherboard.

Did you contact ASUS to ask them if there was a way to update the BIOS to support the 7th-gen CPU?

You may have checked the socket, but did you check the BIOS version? To use a 7700K that motherboard would require an updated BIOS since it is an H110 motherboard. You would need version 602. Version 701 is available -- https://www.asus.com/us/Tower-PCs/G11CD/HelpDesk_BIOS/

You may have to put your original CPU back, update the BIOS and then swap CPUs again.

There is no obvious documentation for that prebuilt that shows how to update bios. Even the Asus forums don't have anything specific I can point you to. There is no description of the BIOS in the user's manual. The best I can recommend would be to look at the documentation for a standard Asus motherboard SIMILAR to yours -- https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H110-PLUS/HelpDesk_Manual/ There is a document called "BIOS Update" read through that.
