I recently got a new cpu fan for my desktop. After opening up the case and disconnecting the old cpu fan i found out that the new fan was to tall to fit in the case. So I reapplied some heat sink to the cpu and fan and put everything back together. After, turning on my pc it started up normally again, with the exeption that when ever i try to connect to a website i get a message in firefox saying your connection is not secure. the same happens in Chrome and IE.

More confusing to me is the fact that in one error message for IE it gives a link to it links to msn which works and allows me to read several articles. However, if I try to go to other microsoft sites it either doesnt load or partially loads. other sites like YouTube or google just don't load at all though. I have no idea what i did to miss up my pc this way, the only other thing I did when my case was open was move a stick of ram to a slot farther from the fan, which I have since moved back to see if that would fix it, which it didn't.

Im not sure if I have a hardware problem or a software problem im currently running bitdefenders antivirus scan but its gonna take a bit. In the mean time does anyone have any ideas?

Edit:
I just found out that I am able to run steam online. I can chat with friends and play games for some reason. I however have made no progress on any of the web browsers.

Edit 2: I noticed my calendar was set to 2009. After changing it my browser started working again. Never knew that could mess things up.

Yes, having a system date/time that is way wrong will mess up SSL. That is one of the first things I tell users to check is the date/time of the computer.
Allowing your computer to sync to an internet time source is the best answer.
