I’m looking to get a new gaming rig, and I have a budget of an iPhone X 64gb (because tax, price in my country tend to be much higher) it cost around 1,500usd btw.

My first choice is msi gaming laptop

Display :15.6" FHD (1920*1080), wideview 94%NTSC color Anti-glare
Processor : Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.80 GHz)
Memory : DDR4 8GB (Max 32GB)
Storage : 128GB SSD (M.2 SATA) +1TB (SATA) 5400rpm
Graphics : nVidia Geforce GTX 1060, 6GB GDDR5

And my second choice is a custom pc

Intel Core i5 7600K
Asus PRIME B250M-K
Galax GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
Thermaltake Versa N21
SteelSeries Apex 100
WDC 1TB SATA3 128MB
Corsair PC21000 16GB
SAMSUNG 24" C24F390

The pc is a bit cheaper about 20 Big Mac or 75 usd, but with i5 instead of i7 and no ssd, no Bluetooth, WiFi.

I have no experience in building a pc, and I had little knowledge about motherboard and psu

But will it has major performance differences between those two? Because if not I will choose the laptop over the pc because of it’s portability

I consider PC because many says that pc is cheaper than its laptop counterpart, but it’s only a bit cheaper with processor downgrade, or maybe I choose the parts wrong ?

The I7 7700HQ and I5 7600K and SUPER close. But if i had to choose with what u you displaying. i might just choose the I7 7700Hq. Because for example it gives just a little more performance on gta 5 than the i5 7600k. But the I5 7600k has more speed on bus speed. But the i7 7700Hq does support Hyper Threading so you could support 8 cores on your games. The intel i5 7600k Does not support Hyper Threading

With that pc you make some different choices like 16gb of ram instead of 8 and a curved monitor which is more expensive than a regular one.So if maybe choosing differently could you get more on the pc side. I would rather choose an i3 8100 right now for Intel if wanting a quadcore and for i5 rather the i5 8400.
Also Ryzen is there as well.
