Need New Motherboard HELP (CPU isn't compatible since its 7th gen)

I currently have a "Asus H110-I\G11CD/DP_MB" motherboard and i have been trying to get the 7th gen processor to work on it and it turns out that when i asked about it on another thread

that it would not work with my motherboard as it does not support that gen. So i was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what motherboard using the one i stated above (under 80$) that would fit my current computer since its a smaller case and id need pretty much the same size and Socket LGA 1151.

Well it does support 7th gen. If you've got the Asus G11CD

The prob maybe that the 7700k maybe dead. If you updated the BIOS to the latest BIOS

But unless you can try the 7700k on another mobo, you wont know

OK, if I understand you correctly you are looking for a motherboard for an Intel ix-7xxx processor, yes? So now all we need to know is the size of the motherboard in your old case. If your old case is a pre-build case (say, from Dell, HP, Acer, etc) you are probably going to need to buy a new case. If you have a retail case (Corsair, Rosewill, NZXT, etc) you need to figure out what form factor the motherboard is (mATX, ATX, etc). Go here: https://www.pctechguide.com/motherboards/motherboard-form-factors to figure it out.

Then go here: http://www.logicalincrements.com/ to pick out a motherboard. You are almost certainly looking for an H110M motherboard at the price point you want.

Ah no you need a Z270 or B250 mobo for a 7700k.

Unless the seller updates the BIOS for an H110M mobo before they send it

my motherboards bios will not let me update to latest bios ive tried many times on every version on https://www.asus.com/us/Tower-PCs/G11CD/HelpDesk_BIOS/ it just tells me that this isnt a proper version of bios... it only lets me download the older ones on bios

If it says it isnt a proper BIOS. I dont think thats your mobo

The B250 should work fine. Hopefully, the 7700K isnt dead

Does it look like your desktop??If you are sure it is, did you unzip the file first?

yes i unzipped the files first and put them onto the usb drive and the ealier versions on that website worked but then as i got to where it said (For Kabylake) it would say the bios was not proper

If you used a flash drive, was it formatted in FAT32??

You have to format it in FAT32 to update the BIOS. That could be what selected file is not a proper bios means

The other post that links to this says i7 7700k which is a 7th gen CPU

You can put a 7th gen CPU on a H110M mobo BUT unless you update the BIOS, so it supports it, it wont do jack

Make sure the flash drive is formatted in FAT32 FIRST. Before you copy the BIOS update to it. DON'T put it in a folder tho

Thats ok. Some bios updates end with .cap.

Did you copy the cap file to the flash drive? But dont copy the folder

Have you got another flash drive that you could try? Just to see if that flash drive is the prob
