Dear Experts

I have got Anker 10 Port 60W Data Hub with 7 USB 3.0 Ports and 3 PowerIQ that connected to my windows 7 Desktop

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VDVCQ84/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

when i connect my canon pixma MP230 USB printer it goes offline , if I connect the usb cable to computer directly the same printer will be online again.

Is that because USB hub doesn't supply enough power to the printer,,,,,,,,,,,,I have experienced the same issue before

Thanks

Solution

Mine will go into sleep/power save mode a couple minutes at most after printing a page. Never timed it but a minute to a minute and a half seems about right.
Then if i want to print again I have to push the power button to bring it out of sleep

Do other devices work via the hub?

It's possible that the driver cannot find the printer when it's moved to a different location. If that's the case you might be able to fix that in Printer Properties on the Ports tab.

My Canon printer does the same thing when not in use.
After a few minutes of non use it goes into sleep mode. Whether attached to the computer directly or through a hub.
Unplugging and re-plugging it in brings it out of sleep mode,as well as pushing the power button.

This is different means initially your was working when not in the sleep mode ,,,wasn't it ? mine hadn't gone to the sleep mode yet
