About a couple of years ago I finally left home for my own apartment and for awhile I did rent my router from my isp and doing so cancelled my phone from time to time from being connected in my unit. Fast forward i dropped their router and bought one of my own a d link. Still having gobs of bandwith problems. On the first one I bought I did change the key only to eventually have the router short out(that could have been due to my last flood so) anyways went out bought another d link a more expensive one and still bandwith problems up the bum. Like the Wii u barely stays connected while watching YouTube pages are slow to load on my phone along with videos on my phone and the other day I lost video playback on my ps4 and connection to the destiny 2 servers. There is nothing else connected to the device except for my game consoles phone and laptop and it's never more then 3 at one time and only the phone surfs the web. I think someone is stealthing my internet but I can't detect anything it's driving me up the wall

If you live in an apartment you are at a huge disadvantage due to everyone around you having interfering network signals. For anything that can be done wired, do it wired. For those things that must be wireless determine if you are using the best frequency and channels.

You can download a simple cell phone app that will detect all the wireless around you or you can use the free version of the computer wifi analyzer inSSIDer. For 2.4 GHz there are only 3 non-overlapping channels (1, 6, and 11), and you may have better luck with 5GHz as there are more channels and a few less users (although that is rapidly changing).

If you suspect other users on your wireless, reset your router and change the SSID and wireless...

If you suspect other users on your wireless, reset your router and change the SSID and wireless passkey, and insure that WPS is disabled because it creates a security hole. Then update all your devices for the new information.

Post your router model, current wireless channel settings, and those of the other around you for additional help.
