I was tinkering with some gigabyte stuff and seeing what they did and came across a program called "Easytune" so I installed it and pressed upon "light overclock" and ever since my pc has restarted and I've been able to load up into the login page of windows 10. But as soon as I login it will restart the pc. I've tried safe mode which allowed me to get past that but 1. Cannot uninstall easytune and 2. Cannot load easytune to change it back to default as it won't load. I've tried some recovery settings such as system restore but that freezes and reboots without completing.

My motherboard is gigabyte ga-970a-ds3p

I have reset the CMOS battery and bios told me it worked and to load defaults and continue to windows which in my eyes means the bios isn't the issue considering its only happening when logging into windows 10.
I've never had this issue due to never worrying about overclocking before. So I'm a little new and lost currently. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

Any other system specs you need in order to understand it fully just ask and I'll attempt to get them to you asap.

Solution

Yeah it could. You can try clean install. It can corrupt the os

You aren't being a pain lol. Check your mobo manually where it shows you where all the stuff is. It's deterrent for ever mobo. It will be there though.

Okay I did as you said and it came up saying BIOS has been reset - please decide how to continue
Load optimized defaults then boot
Load optimized defaults then reboot
Enter bios

I pressed the first 1 and it's still doing exactly the same as it was. Is it possible windows could have been corrupted and needs reinstalling manually?

Okay I will see if I can get around to doing that. Little tricky as I've never had a windows disc only downloads lol but I've got a USB stick so will attempt to do so using that. Thanks for the help so far. Will let you know how it goes once attempted.

Still no luck in attempting a reinstall. It's telling me that a certain harddrive I have can't have windows installed to it. Even after formatting and same situation with my solid state drive although that was the current drive running windows. So I currently have a empty hard drive and a empty solid state drive now. As typing this I'm installing the hard drive as an external onto my laptop to try and install windows to it that way. Will keep posted on what happens. Also one thing I did try was running my laptop off the SSD whilst it had windows still and even that crashed so I'm fairly sure it's to do with the windows installation but I don't see why it's not allowing for a reinstall. Like I said will try this if not back to googling.

EDIT:
Successfully installed Windows onto the SSD again and managed to login for about 20 seconds on the pc and crashed without error messages once again. First issue still occurring.

Fresh installed Windows onto the SSD again and plugged it in as soon as it was ready and it restarted once and has been fine since! Guessing it was a corrupt OS somehow but is all good now so thank you mperna21 for the help!

Don't reinstall easytune on the fresh OS as well, I had this installed and it prevents any bios changes you make yourself! Took me days to figure this out and I hope it saves you time. I would always recommend going through bios before installing any software to overclock. TLDR, Don't even think about downloading EasyTune if you want hassle free overclocking

Thank you my dude! Handy knowing that. I think I'll just leave my clock settings alone for now haha. :)
