My AUSUS AC3200 was working fine for it’s entire life running The latest Merlin as of this date. Only the modem is connected to it. Everything else is wireless. Using Tri-band smart connect. A few devices I’ve elected to use QoS to limit their bandwidths. Lately, the router has been having internet issues.

This maybe unique to my router as I haven’t found anything on the internet regarding. Simply put—when my MacBook Air connects to the network all devices immediately lose internet connection. The router shows no IP for a moment and then a new IP is assigned to router. Internet comes back on for a few monites then the process starts over again with no IP address.

I’ve tried the usual reset, roll back firmware, switch to stock fw, turn off smart connect, turn off QoS. Any ideas anybody?

I had similar issues with my Asus N66U router. The router admin page would show no internet or no DHCP (can't remember the exact status) in the status area. Rebooting the modem and router would not fix it. The only thing that worked was unplugging the ethernet cable from the modem to the router for a few seconds. I know it sounds odd, but that's all that would work. I finally got tired of it and bought an Asus AC3200 and now having different issues with that one.

I also noticed that the old router would pull a 24. address from my modem and the new AC3200 router now pulls a 74. address. Very odd.
