Hello everyone, I'm in the market to buy a new PC, it has been about 6 years since I've built one. I'm totally out of the loop though, and was looking for advice.

I'm planning on donating my current PC to a sibling, so I'll be starting from scratch.

PC will be used for gaming, internet use, and movies.
I would like a dual-monitor setup. (Both will need to be purchased)
Mouse and keyboard, and speakers as well.

An OS is not required.

The budget is $2500 CDN, including shipping.

Thanks to anyone who gives me advice and recommendations. I've become a noob at this and plan on doing some reading, I'm just hoping I'm too old to figure this out anymore. :)

I am not sure what are the best speakers so I went along with the review. The keyboard and mouse are something I have used before and had pretty decent experience. Two monitors are included, with a 1440p 27" and a 1080p 27". All of this, plus an i5 8400, with a GTX 1080, 16 Gigs of RAM, an SSD and HDD.

Throw in NVIDIA Volta GPU when launched. Get the GTX1180/2080 and you will get best dual monitor gaming setup that can handle any game above 60fps with ease.

Considering that the current GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 both are pretty good for 1440p and handle almost all games above 60 FPS, why did you give 2x 1080p Monitors? Would not a 1440p be more sense, especially if the GTX 1180 or 2280 are more powerful than the 10 series?

Also, during their release, aftermarket cards may come quite late after the original cards are released, just like for the 10 series. As such, these increase wait time as well as prices may be much higher, taking budget above $2500 CAD.

I considered going down your Path but was wary of the above reasons. Otherwise, your Build is pretty good. Solid Choices.

We have to consider the time interval at which OP upgrades his PC. In this case he is is upgrading after 6Yrs time so for the build to perform at 60fps+ at very-high to ultra settings even with GTX1180/2080 having 2 x 1080p monitors is recommended as the intensity of games utilizing GPU to max will increase year by year. After 5Yrs games at 1080x3840 will be down to 60fps or even lower. If OP had to get single 1440p then again that is fine for 5Yrs but if he has to get 2 x 1440p monitors even GTX1180/2080 will not strong enough to last for 3-4Yrs and 5Yrs is out of question.

There will hardly be a month difference after the release to get hands on aftermarket cards especially ZOTAC cards.

I always try to throw in a build which lasts very long without requirement of upgrade.

Thanks again. Very much appreciated.
