No display after reseating GPU

So ever since making a new computer a few weeks ago, I have had problems with games crashing. I just ruled out that it wasn't a software problem, so I tried reconnecting my GPU and its power cables. After reconnecting it, I didn't get a display. I tried both PCIe slots and neither worked. It lights up, but no display (and I'm sure its plugged in to the monitor). Do you think it is a problem with the GPU (Asus Strix 1080ti) or Motherboard (AsRock Fatal1ty Professional Gaming)? The motherboard gives a debug code of 54 when I turn it on. I have tried clearing the CMOS as well. How can I fix this?

Do you have another GPU/integrated graphics at hand? Can you borrow it from a friend or something? Try those to see if it works if you do.

Ok so I tried another one, and it still didn't have an output, no display on the monitor

Ah ok, thanks. I tried one stick in each of the positions and it didn't work. Maybe I'll try borrowing some RAM from someone else to test it. When I got it, I ran the windows memory diagnostic test and it said there were no problems so that's weird.

I don't think Windows Memory diagnostic is that accurate (could be wrong), I think memtest's a good one though (though I'm not sure where to download it from). Also, what RAM do you have? Are you using 64 or 32 bit?

My RAM is G Skill Trident Z rgb. So I tried borrowing some working ram from someone, and it still didn't boot and gave error code 54. Could it be a problem with the motherboard?

Aha I returned the motherboard and got another one, because they were out of stock of my current one (I got Asus crosshair VI hero). And it works!
