Hello
I had my new rig built and everything was running fine for 5 months until today.

System shut down on its own while idle when I was out. I booted up and it went into DOS error message: “CPU fan speed error detected.....”

It prompted me to hit F1 into setup and I watched the CPU temp run up to 89C in a minute and I shut it down to protect the chip.

I open the case and everything seems to be working ok visually. All fans running. No wierd noise like I have heard the water cooler can make when broken.

I finally got it into BIOS set up and fan control but don’t know what to do. Don’t know why it’s a “fan issues” if it’s really a water cooler issue.

Any ideas?

System:
i7 7700K
ASUS ROG STRIX Z270E mobo
Corsair hydro H100i v2; dual fan liquid CPU cooler
960 pro 512 m.2 SSD
1000 Watt psu

Looks like your pump died. Time to RMA it.
