I recently installed a new cpu (i5 7600k). My pc posts and runs fine. But every once in a while, like within an hour my pc freezes or locks up and I cant move my mouse or restart. All I can do is manually turn hold the power button and turn the pc off. I did the bios update for my motherboard so it can support 7th gen processors and in system information the bios version is the updated one. And this has never happened before the installation. And the cpu is not over clocked.

Specs:

Cpu: i5 7600k unlocked
Gpu: gtx 1050
RAM: HyperX fury 8gb 2400 (1-stick)
OS: Windows 10
MB: ga-h110m-a (gigabyte)

have you already reinstalled the proper chipset driver? tho its not needed. you can always do a fresh install of windows. :)
also try reseating your RAMs. and reset the CMOS of your mobo.

well if the CPU is the only thing that you touched on your mobo, most likely you got some bent pins on the cpu mount when you tried installing it. try to double-check. and be sure you still got some extra thermal paste.
