So i have an MSI R9 280X that i think is dead (for 4 months)
Warranty also ran out from the store i bought it and receipt of it was lost.

If I put the gpu in my system, the whole pc freezes when i turn it on. The lights turn on, Gpu fan spins but thats it, no signal on the monitor and even the keyboard lights dont turn on. But if remove the gpu my system turns on. what could this mean? if its dead, what can i possibly do for this R9 280X?

also there are no stores in my area which fixes graphics card and it seems a waste to throw this r9 280x.
Tried putting this in my friends pc and same thing happens, pc freezes when turned on and no signal.

specs:
cpu:i7 2600k
Psu: Seasonic M12ii - 620W
8gb ram

i actually have a gtx 1050 ti which i mainly used since last year,
i just want to know if theres something i could do to magically fix this r9 280x, i got nothing to lose anyway.

you might try a hammer...actually, there really aren't any serviceable parts on modern GPUs, and unless it's something really obvious (and it probably isn't), you should just let it go.
