can my pc handle gtx 1050?

One of my machine still runs a i5-650 with a gtx750ti pretty smoothly. Its 20% faster than the gt1030 but 50% slower than the 1050. In your case, it might bottleneck a bit but it will be relative to cpu heavy games. It is not a bad thing per say, as you will definitely get a lot of performance boost. The only flip side is, the card will not be operational at its full potential as the cpu will max out in certain scenarios.
