Hi there,

I just put a new Mobo/cpu/memory in my computer, and started it up. Keyboard and mouse work fine in the bios but fail to respond or work once windows 7 boots. Keyboard and mouse have been tried in both 2.0 and 3.0 slots, Legacy USB support is enabled, have tried switching XHCI Hand-off on and off (default is disabled). Made sure each individual port is also set to enabled but won't work.

Old build: AMD FX-8350, Gigabyte GA-990FXA UD-5, G-skill ripjaws 2x8gb 1600MHz

New build: AMD Ryzen 7 1800x, ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero, G-skill trident 2x8gb 3200MHz.
Current Bios: 1002 x64

This looks like for some reason there may be a driver issue, but not sure if this could also be bios related? In theory the drivers on windows should still be fine as I haven't changed anything with the hard drives at all. I'm fairly new to tinkering with bios and boards and understanding chipsets and how they play into it so i'm not sure if this is causing an issue. I've never upgraded or changed bios versions before either.

Any input greatly appreciated! I'd really hope this can be resolved without a new OS or HDD wipe.

Thanks everyone.

Unfortunately that is the best option. From what I remember, Microsoft said that they would not support new CPU's on Windows 7 starting from Intel's 7th generation and AMD's Ryzen series processors.

I thought this could maybe be it.... but I was hoping it wasn't. Gah big mistake on my part. So if I'll need to reformat that drive, then install a fresh windows 10 on it?
