Delete OS off the HDD and make it as a storage drive

I'm getting a new 1TB SSD and wanna make it my new clean main OS drive and my HDD secondary storage but keeping my old data in my HDD

The ideal way is to find whatever data you wish to keep from the old drive, move it to a different drive, ten wipe the old drive completely.
Much easier that trying to remove only parts of the data (OS, etc) from the old drive.

And...the applications living on the old drive won't be usable. They need to be reinstalled with the new OS on the new SSD.

When you install the OS on the new drive, have only the new drive connected. Reconnect the old HDD after.
