ryzen 7 1700 vs i5 8600k FOR GAMING
sites like userbenchmark say the i5 8600k is a world better and sites like passmark say that the ryzen 7 1700 has a higher score by 1000 points, both have a similar mobo, same ram, ssd and gpu. i would like to know which is better at gaming, light multitasking, like listening to music whilst playing games. that is it. i will be upgrading from a i5 4590 and i am 10000% certain both of these cpus are better, both come out at 10-15 bucks difference so money doesnt matter, DO NOT suggest another cpu, i am tired of making pcpartpicker lists

Given the recent mess that's got Intel in a tizzy with Meltdown and Spectre, AMD may be a better and safer alternative. You'll likely save money in the process, too. I can't account for what your considerations may be, but it's something to think about.

Good hunting.

i dont read about that stuff i just game and see what hardware is good or not

Its a design flaw in the Intel and AMD chips, although on the Intels the flaw is a much bigger security issue since it cane be exploited from outside sources where as with the AMD chips you have to be physically at the computer. It is sorta big security issue it has since been software patched however software patches are bandaids and probably will require regular updates as new vulnerabilities are discovered.

I would suggest reading up about it. But to your original question Intels still beat Ryzens in gaming performance.
