so today i got my gtx 1080. i had already uninstalled the drivers of my old gpu. once i installed the gpu and the new drivers i launched Far Cry 3 to see how good the game would look on ultra. i had my fun and then i quit and went to play Arma 3 to do the same and it looked gorgeous. after that i went to Dark Souls 3 (this is where the trouble began) about 2 minutes after loading into the world i interacted with an npc and my game froze. i spammed alt tab and alt f4. niether worked so i hard restarted. this happened a couple of times so i read a few threads saying this is typical shenanigans in DS3. i shrugged it off and went to CS:GO. i loaded the game with some bots to see how the game would run and the same thing happened. works fine in the main menu but once i load the game 2 minutes after and boom. alt tab & alt f4 didn’t work so i hard restarted a bunch of times. next game i tried was Subnautica. the game ran great until i jumped into the water and my game froze and this time it actually crashed my pc (only time) i already used DDU and reinstalled drivers and that didn’t work (multiple times by the way) as i continued to see if the games would run i noticed a couple of things. every time my game froze or my screen locked my pc was never frozen. it was just the game. i was in a skype call with my friend trying to resolve this. it was just the game but i could still hear him. the game be stuck on a frame (like a guy reloading) playing whatever sound was going on (for example a gunshot) in an infinite loop. most of the time i restarted but one time i spammed alt tab and it left them game. and when i clicked back on i was working fine for a couple of minutes but froze again. then once i sat there frustrated and after about a 2-10 minute wait (the time varied) it would come back for a little bit the screen lock again. i don’t know what the problem it and i can’t seem to figure it out. it can’t be overheating because i have tons of fans blowing on it. it’s not dusty and msi says it’s at 60 degrees celsius. i have an unknown 600w power supply but i doubt its that cause i heard a 450+ psu can handle a 1080. i’ve read a bunch forums/threads where all of the “solutions” was to use DDU it worked for some and not for others. unfortunately i was the bunch that it didn’t work on :( so any help would be greatly appreciated!

First, fix that block of paragraph. It is practically unreadable.

Second, this is a PSU issue. Unknown PSU? That is your problem. I do not know where you get your information, but a 450W will only be capable if it is some seriously good unit.

Straight up, that is literally a PSU issue, replace it asap unless you like a fire and what your 1080 to burn. Get one from EVGA or Seasonic or Corsair.
