Hey guys,

I have a small issue here. I just bought a new pc ( b350 M Gaming Pro Mobo, Ryzen 1500x, gigabyte gtx 1060 3 gb, 8 gb ram with 500 W source ) . The thing is, from the beginning , every time i was turning on my pc, the lan icon from the bottom right was showing a "red X" and i thought the lan cable was the problem, but it turned out that the cable was just fine. ( as a side not, i'm using a router to set up my connection. also with the same router my old pc had no problem connecting to the internet after rebooting. ) . So, here's the thing, the only way i can fix this and to make my internet work again is to first remove the internet cable and then to remove the lan cable connecting the router with my pc and the inserting it back in, and after that, get the other cable in, my internet cable that comes from my ISP. In this order. If i do it otherwise the internet won't work. There are times when i have to try this for a 2nd or even a 3rd time to make the green led turn on. If i use only the ISP cable ( removing the router ) and connect though a ppoe everything will be just fine, the lan will work perfectly fine.

Repairing or disabling/enabling the ethernet won't work. I have tried to update my bios, to reinstall windows but had no luck. I m wondering if i have to change my router to a new and a better one , maybe my router is pretty old and doesn't deal as good as it should with my new rig. Or maybe i have a weak PSU.

Can someone help me ? :)

Kind regards,
Bogdan

You installed the latest drivers from http://www.realtek.com.tw/DOWNLOADS/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=2&PNid=13&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false? Is your router 100 Mbps or Gigabit? What motherboard did you have before?
