Recently I bought a new pc and I took dvd optical drive from old pc and decided to use it with adapter in the future.

So I found Startech USB 3.0 to SATA adapter on Amazon and it looks OK, I mean it will fit but on my optical drive it's written 2A for 5V, while usb can't have that much amperage.

The drive is LG GH22NS50

I just want to know if adapter will work with that optical drive because I have doubts, because that is like desktop optical drive and I think it needs more power.

I forgot to mention. That drive also is dvd burner but I will use it only to read disks like drivers or other stuff that comes with products package.

To be safe you'd need an enclosure like https://www.amazon.com/Vantec-NST-536S3-BK-NexStar-External-Enclosure/dp/B01MRUN0HQ/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1515504795&sr=8-11&keywords=external+dvd+case, but a brand new external DVD costs less.
