Need New Sound

Okay first off I am not an audiophile but I do want my music and games to sound great. I have Logitech Z906 5.1 surround sound with a pair of Razer 5.1 Headphones.I am looking to upgrade my soundcard here are my contenders:

Sound BlasterX Ae-5
HT Omega Claro Halo
Asus STXII
Sound Blaster ZxR

And lastly not sure about the DAC thing but this one:

Xonar U7 MKII

Your headset has it's own built in amp and your surround system has it's own built in DAC and AMP. So a sound card wont really do anything for you.

It's just not worth it to spend that kind of money on a sound card with those headphones in my opinion, they are 29ohms, very easy to drive. Your motherboard should be able to power those without issue.

If you want better sound the first thing I would recommend is a decent pair of studio headphones. And if you still want a sound card after that I would recommend an external DAC/AMP like a Fiio E10K or something.

Well I put my Sound Blaster Z back in and there is actually quite a difference. Better clarity more sharpness over MOBO connectors. But as suggested I am looking at Sennheiser, most prices doable but the HD 800 is a bit out of my range. I primarily use my 5.1 speakers (the neighbors love me) while at night my other half uses headphones (very loud) so any suggestions?
