2x4gb and 1x8gb work?

I'm getting new Ram which is Corsair Vengeance 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3 1600 MHz and I have my old one which is 1x8gb and I think It is Adata 1600mhz would those 2 types of ram work together ?

Maybe, RAM is finicky. Really you should only put in a kit or at the very least buy the same exact model however it's possible that it may work.

I have no idea. Maybe, maybe not. You are taking a risk mixing RAM sticks that weren't packaged, especially sticks of different sizes.

Thanks, and one last question may sound stupid but I'm new into computers if 2x4gb sticks have 1600mhz does that mean each stick has 1600mhz or both together have 1600mhz?

Well if it deos work, I doubt there would be any impact on performance but there could be instability. Meaning you could get random blue screens, lock ups, etc.
