Hello.

So I checked the motherboard bios version and it was F5 so I decided to update to the latest one.

I used app master to update the bios and I selected yes when it asked if I wanted to save the previous bios. The update was done successfully. It told me to restart the system which I did. But the bios version in @bios as well as system info still showed F5.

So I decided to update again but this time, I did not save the previous bios and updated. The update was again successful and it told me to reboot which I did.

And when the system shut down, there is no display now. The GPU and processor fan all start but there is no display and there is no "ping" sound that we hear when the system boots. Also, of the 4 LED lights at the bottom right of the MoBo named CPU, VGA, DRAM and VGA but only the CPU LED turns on.

I'm afraid I might have bricked the MoBo. If so, what do I do? Desperately need help.

Tried various methods to reset bios including removing battery, using the hold power and reset methods as well as shorting the 2 Cmos reset pins with a screwdriver. Nothing worked.

Could it be possible that it's not working because after my first Bios update, it switched to the secondary bios and after I updated that as well, both were not working? This would be the worst case.

Specs:

Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 MoBo
Ryzen 5 1600 Processor
GTX 1050 Ti OC 4GB
8 GB 2666 HyperX Fury RAM

Unplug the computer from the power outlet, remove the battery on the mainboard, wait a few minutes.

Put the battery back in and try booting again.

If that doesn't help, you'll have to replace the mainboard unfortunately. You're also apparently not the only person having it happen with that board, plenty of other complaints about this on the net.

Edit: Since you did a backup of your BIOS before, you have one last hope actually. The backup BIOS is accessible through the Dual BIOS feature. You can activate it following this guide: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php/697533-GUIDE-Forcing-backup-BIOS-on-Gigabyte-motherboards?highlight=gigabyte+dual+bios

Method 2 listed there is supposed to work on your motherboard ;)

As I mentioned in my OP, I updated bios twice. First, I updated to F10 and while it rebooted, I went to the bathroom, so it probably switched to the back up bios on its own. I checked system info and it showed the same old bios version so I updated it again and the issue started.

Seems like RMA is my only option. Just hope there's not much trouble in getting it and it doesn't take them too long. The warranty should cover this, right?

The Backup BIOS shouldn't be overwritable. When booting from Backup BIOS on Gigabyte boards, the Backup BIOS overwrites the normal BIOS during startup (or that's what it should do at least) and then boots the overwritten, normal BIOS.

Edit: Yes, warranty should cover it, other users who went the RMA route got a replacement.

The actual problem with this board seems to be connected to the BIOS update process, not the BIOS itself, as people who got later batches got those new BIOS versions in a working state on their boards.
