I am looking at a Radeon Pro WX3100 but it is a half mount card, and comes with an adapter, I am just wondering if it works in a normal mid tower case?

If this were me, and I was absolutely sold on that combination, I would find definitive pictures of the case (probably on the maker's website, or maybe on Newegg or Amazon.com), along with pictures of the motherboard (the maker's site) and the video card (the maker's site). Put all the pictures together in your head and see if they fit.

I've done this before. It's great exercise.

PCPP is on drugs. That card is a standard single width, half height card, no different than any other lower end graphics card dimensionally. I see absolutely no reason it shouldn't work with that board or that case.

I will say though, and I certainly do NOT mean to sound condescending or dismissive of your preferences, but I am somewhat baffled by the choice of Apevia case when there are so many other, better options near that price range. The only thing I can think of is that it's a color preference that you were unable to find in any other brand. If color is not the reason for that case selection, I'd recommend at least considering some other choices.

Right from square one you can see that case has zero room for cable management in the area/compartment on the backside of the motherboard tray. Certainly it MUST be workable, as were many cases from the old days, but it's going to be a real PITA unless you plan to simply let all the cabling hang out in the hardware side of the case which is not great for cooling and airflow. Anyhow, I see no reason that card won't work, at all.

I've also found Apevia cases to be rather cheap and flimsy on the handful of times I've done builds in various Apevia models. That might not hold true for all their cases, but looking at that one I suspect it will be true for it as well.

I also don't see a need for, nor do I see any mention of any kind of adapter either on the B&H or the AMD product page for that card.

An Anandtech review of the card didn't turn up any concerns nor any adapters either, which seem appropriate since I'm not seeing any reason why it would need one.

I never trust automated systems that tell you what fits with what, or if your system meets requirements. There are always going to be glitches and those systems depend on who knows what kind of data and algorithms to decide things. All those parts look standard and that case has plenty of expansion slots. I also figure that case choice must be for the color because Apevia? It's not exactly a goto brand for cases.

If by adapter you mean a full height bracket then it will work but none of the sites I looked at said anything about having a full height bracket. If it doesn't have a full height bracket then it will not work as that is a half height card with a half height bracket while the case is a full height opening. I believe that is what the incompatibility message is saying.

FYI I would not buy that power supply. IMO Raidmax is just not trustworthy enough. I hate recommending the CX but if you have to have a budget PSU then the Corsair CX is a much better choice.

There was not a Raidmax PSU on that build list the last time I looked at it, or I would have FOR CERTAIN been screaming about that. If you do nothing else you've been advised, get THAT out of the build and get a quality unit. Also, jnkweaver may be right about the card, however I don't see any indications on any of the reviews for that card that say anything about that.

The adapter that is included is a 1x mDP-DVI SL (passive) adapter, so it has nothing to do with the card height. The specifications on the AMD website indicate that it is a single slot standard desktop card although it DOES say half height. Looking at the image, and the reviews, I'm not seeing that so you may need to confirm with AMD on that.

Also, what exactly is this system for? You do realize that the Radeon Pro WX 3100 is an EXTREMELY low end workstation card, yes?

Looking at the following image showing that card installed, it sure looks to me like it's tall enough to install normally, in a standard height ATX case PCI I/O mount.
