Solution
If you wait, this should be cheaper... I built a system last month, got this Ram for 190$, similar motherboard at 200$, crucial SSD at 170$. So on, prices just suck a little right now. Also, if shopping in Canada, I could suggest you shop with Newegg, they charge just the federal tax, if you get Newegg membership, you can save quite a bit on shipping, which helps with a spread out purchase pattern (buying one by one)-(membership costs I think 75$ though).

CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor ($392.99 @ PC-Canada)
Motherboard: Gigabyte - Z370 AORUS GAMING WIFI (rev. 1.0) ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($224.99 @ Newegg Canada)...

4790k is an i7 not an i5. which one is it?

but overall, I would suggest you go with the Ryzen, it makes for an "overall better" system. 6core @ 3.8ghz stock cooler OC is pretty good on the ryzen, GTX1060 is quite strong for 1080p, so no worries there. Although I see the temptation in the other system (you'll hit a ceilling with this build sooner than the ryzen, if indeed an i5). Go with the newer one it's got more potential, and the Ryzen has got 6 physical cores, which will help you a little with newer CPU heavy games
