Ssd and raid harmony

Ok, so I'm building a new rig based on the Ryzen 1600x. On my old rig I had 1 tb raid 10 setup using 4x500gb drives. In my new rig I'd like to have my shiny new ssd as the main drive for my OS and still have the raid 10 as my Storage. What's the best way to do this?

You'll probably have to create a new RAID 10 and restore from the backup. RAID 10 is fine, but it doesn't protect from accidental file deletion or from hackers that encrypt your drives.

Do you really need to raid the HDD's?
Can keep the setup the same. The SSD will appear as one drive, install your OS on that, then hookup the 4 HDDs.
Or you can just spend big, and drop the $50 on a new 1Tb HDD to replace 4 old drives ;)
