I have an Alienware X51 R2 (didn't know much about computers back when I got it). I was wondering if I was able to scrap it for parts (My i7-4790 CPU 3.60hz/any other parts that would be useful) and get a new case so that I can put in a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. If I could scrap it for parts, what would I be able to take out and what would I need new? Also, is there a way to transfer my current graphics ASWELL as get a new one? So I would have two. Keep in mind that I would hire a company to do the building, just need to get the parts and know what I can keep.

If you are going for a 1080ti then I assume super high FPS 2k or 4k then pretty much you'll need a whole new system. Either an Intel 8th gen i7 or Ryzen 7, new Mobo, at least 16GB of Ram and a 600 Watt PSU.

As far as selling your old PC, definitely part it out however Alienware being a Dell company could mean they use non standard Mobos and PSUs that may not be worth anything.

I'd probably be using it for high power gaming, VR gaming, and potentially bitcoin mining (Not a must of any kind, just might try it)

It would also need to be functional as a day to day use computer (IE. School, Work, Etc)

I have three HD Monitors already, so is there any sort of special requirements I would need to make it all work? I'm still not super informed about everything, just a good bit more than I was back when I got the computer.
