Hello!
I want to upgrade the current PC I'm using, which is:
• PSU: Super Flower Golden Green SF-600P14XE 600W
• RAM: Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Dual Channel kit Rev A
• Hard disk: Seagate Desktop SSHD 1TB 7200RPM 64MB SATA-III
• Graphic Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 GHz Edition WindForce 3X 3GB DDR5 384-bit
• Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H
• Processor: Intel Core i5 4690 3.5GHz
• Case: Corsair Carbide SPEC-02 Red LED

I've had another topic in here a few months ago where someone suggested to wait more for the new Intel (Coffee Lake), so I decided to do that even if I wanted to upgrade to i7 7700k.

First of all, let me give you some details so you can help me out.

PC will be used for: Streaming/Gaming, Rendering (Sony Vegas/Adobe Premiere) and a bit of Photoshop.

The monitor I'm using is a BenQ XL2411Z 1920x1080 144hz. I'm playing games only in 1920x1080 FullHD, not anything above that. CS:GO in 4:3 1280x960 because it gives me advantages and PUBG mainly games.
Also I'm not a fan of playing too many "resource expensive" games, but I want the best out of them when I do.
I have a budget around 700-800$ and the upgrade should be bought within the next two months.
I prefer Intel/Nvidia.
I don't like doing overclocking.

I was thinking to upgrade the CPU + the MOBO and RAM, what would you suggest?

Only these three components for now and then maybe changing the other components, starting with the GPU, so I'd appreciate some ideas on a future GPU too.

Thank you!

Your processor still has some life. I was running an i7-920, which is lower than yours on passmark, and it never maxed out on any game.

I'd go with a 1080 and upgrade the ram to 16 gig and maybe upgrade to an SSD. That should just about use up your budget.

If I'd upgrade the RAM to 16 GB right now on this motherboard, I will have to buy another 16 when I will upgrade potentially to a Coffee Lake CPU.
Is my GPU bottlenecking?
Also, wouldn't be okay to have a better CPU for my what I'm willing to do with the PC?

If you upgrade to a 1080 and 16 GB of RAM I think you should be good for a few years at least. I'd hold off an any new processor (unless you really want a new processor). Your processor is fine for now.

You can tell if your GPU is bottlenecking by running AFterburner and watching your fps and GPU usage. If you run something like Witcher 3 on max settings on 1080p on your rig I bet your 780 bottlenecks or comes close.

The way I think...if you can get a few more years out of what you have....why not? ...and at the end you will still have the 1080.
