HP 4850 flatbed scanner

I'm about to take on a big project of of scanning all of my personal photos, some over 50 years old and there is a lot of them. Will my HP4850 be worthy of this project or should I look at maybe a new epson 600

I have windows 7 and windows 10 and already own the scanner. I just know it is old because I have had it a long time and was concerned the newer ones would produce better scans.

If it works on W7 or W10, I would use it (some of the older models don't but I expect that yours does). And that is a good quality scanner in terms of resolution, nothing new would be any better.

There really have been no significant improvements in scanner tech for a long time, although newer models may be a bit quicker the quality should be fine with the HP.
