Setting up port forwarding(static vs manual ip)

Im a bit stuck in my portforwarding , everything seems to be correct set up with my asus RT-AC68U but i cant get it to work.

I notced that on my network map from the router page that my ip was described as "manual" with (MAC-IP Binding)

i am using a external usb wifi reciever for my pc, i dont know if this could be the issue ?

MAC-IP binding is when you tell the router to always give the lan adapter with MAC address 00:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX the IP address X.X.X.X. If you are port forwarding this is a good thing because if IP addresses changed then the forwarding would go to the wrong device (or no device at all).

It's important to check the computer that you are trying to forward to really has the IP address you expect. (use ipconfig at a dos prompt)

Before troubleshooting the port forwarding - make sure your ISP gives you public IP address. Go to status page of the router, and see youe WAN IP address. Post first two or three numbers here (like 123.234.12).

Your router does not care how your PC is set up, as long as the IP address your PC has matches the LAN IP address in your port-forward settings.
