Minecraft crashes my computer

I am posting this for some feedback i have my rig:
Gtx 1070
16gb ddr4
i7 7700k
850w psu
When i try to load up a high rez texture pack my screen freezes but audio keeps going i dont know whats going on please help

Make sure you have updated your Java (the new minecraft can run without java but not as well). I would use java 64 bit and make sure you dont have the 32bit version installed.

Anothere thing to do is reinstall minecract on the computer.

I use twitch to play minecraft maybe that has somthing to do with it i dont know i have recent java installed as well
