Hey guys,

I have OC'd my 6700k to 4.7 GHz on all cores with 1.4 volts.

Temps stay around 65-70C while stress testing the CPU, FPU and cache at the same time using Aida64. There are spikes to 76C but it goes down immediately as I am using the NH-D15.

I have been running the test for about 30 mins now.

Is this a safe overclocking for 24/7 use?

P.S. 20-25C at idle depending on room temps.

Well, according to this excellent guide (http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1800828/intel-temperature-guide.html), 1.4 volts would be the absolute maximum and many people don't like to run it higher than that. See how high the temps get using prime95 small ffts...

I will do some tests with prime95 later on and post updates.

So from what you have said 1.4 volts is ok for 24/7 use, right?

P.S. I did run some tests with prime95 and it hit 85C max but the PC didn't crash so I consider the OC being stable. Is the temperature high though or it is just because prime95 is stressing it so heavily
