Hello community,

I recently purchased a new USB 3.0 Expansion Card for my new rig as I need the extra ports for flight sim peripherals. I purchased this card from Amazon Canada Linked Here.

However when I installed it in the 3rd PCI-E expansion slot my motherboard doesn't detect it. When I install it in the first slot it does detect the card and I can use it. The second slot is covered by my ZOTAC 1080ti video card. I am using an ASUS Rog Strix Z370-E motherboard.

Do I need to turn that PCI-E slot on in my motherboard settings? Any help would be appreciated as I want to hide the USB card under the video card, instead of having sit right on top. What setting would I need to switch on in bios?

Thanks in advance!!

What is your full system spec? the slot might be disable if you have thing like m.2 drive, etc.
read the mobo spec/manual

*6 The USB 3.1 front panel connector shares bandwidth with PCIE_x1_2 and PCIE_x1_4. If the USB 3.1 front header is connected, PCIE_x1_2 and PCIE_x1_4 will be
disabled.
