Lenovo Laptop Fails

Don't buy Lenovo laptops. My Ideapad Flex 4 1470 is 14 months old and failed. Won't run on external charger - turns off as soon as it is plugged in. Battery now down to 40 minutes so computer will be a brick. Called their service line - they did respond quickly - but they are no help. Said I need to find a service tech locally.

It sounds like you either need a new battery or your power adapter and/or its connections to the battery are faulty.

It happens, with all brands. Unfortunate, but that's life -- stuff happens.

I would fix it myself if it was out of warranty, as it sounds yours is.
