Im asking should i sell it or not because some people are telling me it will be worth more later on but that dont make sense.

That is called price gouging and just because others do it doesn't make it right. That card isn't worth anywhere near 1k but if he wants to overpay by hundreds of dollars because he can't wait for the cards to restock then at least let him know about the price inflation before selling it so he/she knows. That is a good way to get labeled as a scammer if they look up the card 6 months later and it's worth a fraction of what he paid.

$800 for a 980ti is a lot of money, hell I know someone who picked up a Asus Strix 980Ti OC back in May for under $270. The shame of it is that a bunch of cards are going for way more than they should due to mining. I was lucky to get my Asus Strix 1080Ti OC a bit under retail when they came out but now I've seen places asking $1400 for that card and I have no idea if people are crazy enough to pay that but that is just silly. I don't if your card would be worth more if you hold on to it since they generally shouldn't be but prices will only be high while this mining craze is going on and the bubble will pop at some point where the prices will fall back to normal or below.

Nooo everyone he knows that he would be wasting his money an di told him he should just wait a couple months until they get some 1080Ti in or atleast a 1070Ti but he insists that he wants to buy it from me considering most 980Ti are going for $1000 for some dumb reason and almost all 1080Ti and 980Ti are out of stock also.
