Trying to cut costs and still be able to run AAA titles at medium to high framerates at 720p. Would 2 gt 730s be better than a single GTX 1050 ti?

IIRC, the slowest 700-series GPU that supports SLI is the 760.
Yes, you would be much better off with the 1050Ti which is two generations newer and has 4GB of GDDR5 than with 730 SLI if it was possible.
