Ok, so I just got a new processor and motherboard. I put them into my pc, got it to work, Hurray. The problem is my USB keyboard and mouse BOTH work in bios, but once the login screen for windows appears, the both do not work. I've tried both USB2.0 and USB3.0. Ideas?
It's also telling me in the BIOS that there are 3 Keyboards and 2 Mice being detected when i only have 2 USBs plugged in (my 1 keyboard and 1 mouse)

did you do a fresh windows install with your new motherboard? if yes, did you install the latest chipset inf driver from your motherboards supports site?

most likely you just plugged in your system drive from your old OS. i highly advise you to do a fresh re-install.

I have not done a fresh install with the new motherboard. I figured that would not really change anything... That's a lie, I just couldnt find the windows install disk. Like, everything is the same, all i did was change the motherboard and processor. So I was HOPING i wouldnt have to do a fresh install since i couldnt find the disk. But Everything works in the bios menu, it's just as soon as the login screen pops up, my mouse and keyboard lights both go out and they stop working.

you can go to the site below and follow instructions there. prepare a usb drive (at least 8GB) or write into a DVD with the ISO file.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software-download/windows10

the BIOS is totally separate from your OS/windows. you will need to reinstall windows to properly "communicate" with your new motherboard.

as for your license, you will need to follow the instructions here
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/20530/windows-10-reactivating-after-hardware-change

if you cannot login to your old motherboard anymore, then you will have to contact microsoft directly about your matter. they will assist you in helping you transfer your license.

Is there a way I can keep my Windows 7...? Cause personally, I do not like 10, hence why I'm trying so hard to save my windows 7, hehe. Im in a slight bind without my disk it seems.

Alright. Dumb question #1- All my files will be gone once i do a fresh install, correct? All my data will be wiped?

Dumb question #2- I cant get into my desktop due to the login, and the mouse and keyboard not working, so I will not be able to get the lost windows key.So is this basically a stalemate?

Sorry for being irritating.

nah ur not irritating at all :)
(1) yes. you will have to delete all the partitions on your old drive. all data will be wiped.
however you can buy a new drive. and install your OS there. use your old drive as a secondary.
(2) if you can setup your old motherboard again, you can do it from there. or if you have a friend, who can attach your drive to a SATA port they have. or if they have a SATA to USB adapter. you can still retrieve your old win7 key that way.

i highly advise against this but if you really insist in using your old windows with your new motherboard without reinstall, you will need to prepare this USB tool from this site below. this will allow you to install basic/specific motherboard drivers to your windows pre-boot. the instructions in the site is very straight forward. however, this is not a guarantee your system will work 100%. but at least, this will make your keyboard and mouse work. there are ways to "fix" a old windows to work thru directly editing the registry or running a specific tool in windows to reset like an OOBE fix.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/snappy-driver-installer/

if your new motherboard has a Skylake processor and above, this will only support windows 10. it will not work with older versions of windows.
