Added a new hard drive and computer shuts off then comes back on but with a blank screen

I don’t know where else to post this but here and I’m in need of help. So I recently added on another hard drive because my first hdd was getting full. After I did and hooked everything back up I tried to power up my desktop but after a few seconds it would shut down then power back up but with a blank screen on my monitor with a no connection. I then took out the new hdd and it still acted like that so I disconnected everything and reconnected everything to finally work proper again. I then tried once again to add on the new hdd and again it does the same thing to me. I don’t under stand if it’s my mother board slowly dying or my power source not being enough with the added hdd or my 3 month old graphics card failing or what. My specs are - Both hdd WD 64 cache 1 tb, Nvidia GeForce Getz 1050 ti, intel i5 quad 3.40 ghz, 16 gb ram, motherboard msi ms-7850, running Windows 7.

yes, it's Z87-G41 PC Mate. i can't check anything after connecting the new hdd. It powers on for maybe 5 seconds, doesn't show anything on the moniter and then shuts down before anything can load. Then it powers back on by itself 3 seconds later, but nothing loads. It's just a blank screen and a powered computer but nothing else. One weird thing was that i took a look inside the computer and that the gpu fan would stop both times. i'll try updating the bios and see if that does anything.

I will start by saying, thank you so much helpstar. my computer is working perfectly with now a new hdd. I did exactly as you explained and upgraded my bios, but i also read something about single line psu's and so i took my primary hdd and my secondary hdd and swapped the power connectors so that my secondary hdd is at the end of the cable and my primary hdd is just before that. Either way it's working perfectly now thanks to you helpstar.

Which PSU is it? If it worked by swapping the power connectors, it might be not stable. Usually the power connectors doesn´t influence the hardware connected to it, if correctly plugged in. Primary or secondary drive was IDE standard with data connectors long time ago.

I think it was just the boot priority, but anything with hardware can be possible :) Glad it´s working now.

Just for explanation:
The 1050TI has a "no fan" feature, it only runs the fans shortly after powering up (stops then again) and in case of reaching a temperature like 60°C
