I've got a PC I built about 3 years ago, all of a sudden recently when I pressed the power button, even though the power lights on the motherboard were on, the computer would not power on.

I switched the master switch on the power supply on an off and the PC powered up fine.

This has happened about 3 times and has never happened until recently, what could be causing it?

Power supply is a Corsair RM1000 and is about 3 years old.

What's the make and model (or part number) of your PSU and how old it is?

But with the limited info you gave without any system specs, it looks like your PSU is acting up. Hence the reason why your PC only boots up when you flip the PSU switch.
