Can I test run my GPU without a motherboard?

Hi! I have this my R7 370 here and I tried to put it in my new mobo, but unfortunately when I run it, smoke started to came out and it smells like a burnt wire. Then suddenly, my motherboard started on opening by itself when I turn on my AVR or the power supply even though i didnt jump start it or start it by pressing the button. Now, I think I lost my new mobo, And I think my R7 370, is broken too. Mobo is H110M-DS2. Now i was wondering if i can test my video card without a mobo because I was afraid to try it on another mobo, since the incident might happen again.

No unfortunately, You could see if you could dig up an old computer that you dont mind potentially killing, but you cant test it on its own. I'd recommend RMA'ing both if theyre still under warranty just to be safe though, and honestly possibly your power supply as well.
