Hello guys,

[short story]
my laptop's graphic card is fried for extensive use over 8 years, day n' night. I have disabled it from device management since I was getting BSOD every 20 mins but my laptop still forcing the fan to work at full power, making a lot of noise. Sometimes I can work for 1 to 3h without noticing any noise, other times it just begins to run at 100% when the pc starts...

I'm only using integrated graphics of an i5 2.8GHz but I would like to know if, in some way, I could remove the graphic card from the motherboard using brute force (with the right tools)
Does any1 knows if it would work and my laptop would become a normal one without a dedicated graphic card or will just crash everytime I turn it on?

Model: ASUS k53sj, Nvidia 520m

thanks in advance!

Thank you for your sugestion!
Maybe there's a no way out of this situation. A motherboard replacement seems to be the only way possible to keep the old laptop alive

Just a stupid question:
Do a laptop with only a CPU needs a fan to cool it down? I mean, what if I unplug the fan from the motherboard? Is it safe? (I only use chrome and pdf on it. It's a secondary pc)

Even under a low load, the CPU is going to generate heat and needs to be removed by the fan. Even most new laptops still have a fan. If you disconnect the fan, you'll burn out the CPU sooner or later. My bigger concern is that there would be a slight risk of the laptop starting a fire.
