First off sorry if this is the wrong category to post this question. Now onto the problem. I recently finished building a computer. The first couple weeks it was wired directly into my router. I finally set it up at my desk however I noticed that I was getting very poor internet connection. It says I was getting 1 of 4 bars of internet however in that specific room I am getting 4 bars on other devices. I found an antenna that fit in the wifi card hoping that would improve performance. It now gets 4 bars of internet, but only around 10 - 15 mbps of download and upload speed. All my other devices are getting upwards of 30 mbps. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

As you might imagine, the bars are just part of a user interface and don't have any diagnostic value. If you can use a wifi testing app like Wifi Analyser and post the two main details listed below, it could help size up the problem.

1. RSSI (signal strength): -# dBm for PC, -# dBm for other device(s)
2. Link rate (tells us the modulation value negotiated): # Mbps for PC, # Mbps for other device(s) (note: this is not a speed test of Internet bandwidth)
3. Any specs for the antenna (the # dBi of gain it has would directly affect the RSSI)
